Qatar-America Institute hosts an open environment for discussion and contributions to progress made in Qatar in its human rights and civil society initiatives, as well as discussing the strategies for overcoming the humanitarian consequences following the blockade. QAI looks to partner with civil society groups – both in the U.S. and Qatar – to create a platform for Qataris to discuss their progressive strides in women’s rights, civil rights and human rights, and also to learn from the perspective of the American experience different ways to bolster their improvements in these areas.

QAI promotes civic engagement initiatives in Qatar by supporting young Qataris interested in learning more about strengthening the civic engagement dimension of their country. QAI organizes educational opportunities for young Qatari students and professionals to study a variety of topics in the United States, including: civic engagement, women in peace and security, the American judicial system, or the history of civil rights in America.

QAI strives to make a lasting and positive impact on society and to support social and public welfare initiatives that enhance progress in the fields of human rights in both the U.S. and Qatar by providing a discussion space through its human rights lecture series.
