This October marks the 10th anniversary since Qatar National Vision (QNV2030) was launched. This is a special occasion to highlight how QNV2030 is driving the country towards a knowledge-based economy, with special focus on education, innovation, and economic diversification. This roundtable event will feature key leaders and researchers in education, economics, and technology from Qatar & the U.S. to discuss the economic and social developments in Qatar.

Celebrating Qatar’s Academic Partnership with American Institutions

Qatar’s support for students pursuing higher education is far-reaching and under-recognized. This event will gather beneficiaries of Qatar’s higher education system to network and learn more about and celebrate Qatar’s impact on academia worldwide. Many alumni of U.S.-branches of Education City universities are not aware of their schools’ Doha branches – and if they are, few know details about their work. Join us for a social happy hour to meet fellow alumni, and learn more about branches of American universities in Qatar.

The Blockade on Qatar: Challenges & Opportunities in Human Rights

The Qatar National Human Rights Committee (Q-NHRC) is hosting an event highlighting the human rights issues stemming from the illegal blockade imposed on Qatar by its regional neighbors. The event will feature the chairman of the Qatar’s National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), Dr. Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri. The Q-NHRC was established in 2002 and functions as an independent non-governmental organization.

This exclusive event will feature a lively discussion on the status of human rights in Qatar, the work Qatar has done to overcome its challenges in enforcing human rights standards in the country, and recent developments within the wider gulf region.  Join us and meet key leaders & researchers from Qatar to learn more.
