Lauren McCollough

Lauren’s more than decade-long communications career has focused on setting strategic agendas and shaping the narratives for countries and global organizations, requiring the development and implementation of all aspects of communications and organizational growth.

Lauren is currently a Senior Communications Advisor at the Institute for State Effectiveness (ISE) and Strategic Communications Director for Altitude Strategies. Lauren spent the past several years working with Qatar as an international and media relations specialist for Al Jazeera, Director of Communications for Qatar Foundation International, and head of communications and Vice Chair of the Worker Welfare Committee for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Lauren has also managed and consulted on several international projects including the UNFCCC COP18/CMP8 Climate Change Conference; the Crimes of War Project; the Global Forum on Oceans, Coasts and Islands; and the U.S. Qatar Business Council.

Lauren received her Masters in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where she has since served as a communications professor. She has also been a reporter, producer and videographer for various news outlets.
