Patrick Gallagher is a Managing Fellow at Qatar-America Institute, specializing in foreign policy strategy and international political operations. Patrick oversees the Institute’s national security profile, writing on US-Qatar and Gulf defense issues; as well as leading high-level U.S. national security delegations to Qatar. Patrick has extensive experience in international communications, research, and policy writing. Included in Patrick’s professional portfolio are published works in conflict resolution, policy advocacy, and international relations.
Patrick began his international affairs career at The Institute of World Politics (IWP) in Washington, D.C. as a research assistant focusing on Middle East warfare paradigms and Kurdish nationalism. During his time at IWP, Patrick was prepared under leading national security practicioneers to engage the foreign policy community both academically and strategically.
Additionally, Patrick is professionally skilled in event production, website and social media development, content analysis, and inter-organizational communication. His experience as a fellow at The Washington Center saw him trained in nuclear security policy by senior Department of Defense personnel.
Patrick graduated magna cum laude with his B.A. in International Affairs from Northern Illinois University in 2015.
