Sara Al-Hemaidi

Public Relations Specialist

Sara joins the Qatar-America Institute as Public Relations Specialist with over seven years of experience in integrated marketing, public relations, and graphic design. She has consulted on projects for multinational brands such as P&G, Yum! Brands, CIGNA International and Allstate; solving client challenges with audience insights and bringing strategies and ideas to life through visuals, experiences, and authentic content.

Prior to QAI, Sara served as the Communications Manager at Qatar Foundation International, a global education not-for-profit in Washington DC; leading her department in implementing outreach and communication strategies to foster greater understanding of the Arabic language and Arab culture and to inspire meaningful connections between the Americas and the Arab world. 

Sara received her B.A. in Graphic Design at American University and her Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) at Northwestern University, specializing in consumer analytics, branding, and digital strategy. During her time at Northwestern University’s Medill School, she co-founded and co-chaired the Medill IMC Emerging Markets Committee, the first of its kind, dedicated to researching and aligning the IMC methodology to the rarely understood communications landscapes of emerging markets; subsequently publishing a paper on the topic in the Journal of Integrated Marketing and Communications. 

As a Qatari expat studying and living abroad for almost two decades, Sara strongly believes in the power of cross-cultural exposure and education in bridging divides and building global understanding. She joins the QAI team with the goal of championing that passion and advancing the strong ties between Qatar and the US.
