DC Passport at the Embassy of Qatar

The beautiful May weather heralded an exciting day as Embassies throughout the District opened their doors to guests. Part of Passport DC 2023, the Around the World Embassy Tour was a full-day event where guests were treated to DC’s thriving international diplomatic community and a variety of lively cultures. At the Embassy of Qatar in the West End, activities buzzed inside as everyone scrambled to get ready for the day—henna artists, oud musicians and more were all on the lineup. QAIC was thrilled to partner with the Embassy and share our mission and work with the over 1,400 guests that passed through the building.  

In addition to our own Olfactory Alphabet experience and puzzle, we brought traditional Qatari games and alphabet-themed coloring pages for kids. Elsewhere around the Embassy, guests got to taste local cuisine and sweets, try on traditional clothing, get their name written in Arabic, listen to an oud performance, and more!
