QAIC’s next Expressions Talk, on July 29th, will feature Egyptian writer and director Farida Zahran. Farida will speak on her background and artistic projects, and discuss her thoughts on the past, present, and future of Arab cinema, both within the region and internationally. Through her insights and perspectives as a filmmaker, we hope to inform the audience on the changes in Arab cinema throughout the past century, how new talents and voices are shaping authentic narratives and the portrayal of Arab culture in the West.
QAIC’s Expressions: Art & Culture Talks are a recurring public creative dialogue that features a variety of personalities, artists, and creatives who have lived or worked in the Arab and Islamic Worlds and whose works were inspired and influenced by these cultures and people.
