QAIC Celebrates a Special Iteration of ArtWalk Dupont

In celebration of National Arab American Heritage Month, QAIC hosted a special iteration of ArtWalk last Thursday. The QAIC team was delighted to welcome nearly 300 guests, visiting from both near and far. In addition to opening our Perfumery Museum and the Research Labs exhibition, the team also hosted two additional activities. Dozens of guests enjoyed a screening of Oualid Mouaness’ 1982. Following the film, QAIC’s Executive Director, Fatima Al-Dosari, facilitated a question-and-answer session between the audience and Mouaness. A recording of the event is available for those who wish to learn about the experiences and events which informed Mouaness’ script and his directorial decisions. Also new to ArtWalk this month was QAIC’s “Olfactory Alphabet: Sensory Experience and Game.” This interactive exhibit introduces guests to the Arabic alphabet by pairing them with a corresponding scent which begins with the same letter.

We look forward to welcoming guests to next month’s ArtWalk, now on every First Friday. The next open gallery night will take place on Friday, May 5th. Next month’s event will mark the debut of works produced by our 2022 IMPART Artist Grant winners. To register for the event, click here.
