QAIC’s Member and Sponsor Win Sustainability Award

QAIC’s member and Sponsor, Lulu Group, received the Tarsheed Award for ‘Sustainability and Energy Efficiency in the Commercial Sector.’ Held at the Sheraton hotel, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani presented the award during the 10th-anniversary celebration of the Tarsheed National Program. The award recognizes exceptional institutions and companies in Qatar who achieve the targeted water and electricity consumption to preserve the environment. Director of Lulu Group, Dr. Althaf, mentioned “We also introduced best scientific practices and training, rigorous monitoring and audit by third-party organizations like The Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD) to ensure sustainability. The award is recognition of our commitment to the Circular Economy.” With Qatar’s commitment to preserving the environment, Lulu Group aims to decrease carbon emissions to 50 percent by 2030 and achieve net-zero carbon footprints by 2045.
