Qatar Fashion United: Celebrating Fashion, Culture, Music and Sports

Two days before the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ finals between Argentina and France, Qatar Fashion United, presented by Qatar Creates and CR Runway, showcased over 150 designer brands from 50 countries. A one-of-a-kind show was conceived by Qatar Museums Chairperson, Her Excellency Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, curated by French editor and visionary stylist, Carine Roitfeld, and directed by CR Runway CEO, Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld. The event at Ras Abu Aboud 974 Stadium and sold out with more than 25,000 spectators who enjoyed this spectacular event highlighting fashion, music, culture, sport, and art.  

The event featured performances by global superstars including Post Malone, DJ Snake, Kadim Al Sahir, Cheb Khaled, Nancy Ajram, Ozuna and Zakes Bantwini.  

The event also comprised four choreographed runway presentations including an opening act with national ambassadors representing 32 countries in the World Cup wearing the official sport customized jerseys. The next choreographed show included two local Qatari brands Aliya Al Obaidly and Harlienz where they put on a spectacular show titled “Where the Sand Touches the Sea” that was inspired by Qatar’s traditional practices of pearl diving which featured the well-known contemporary Gulf folk song titled “Tob Tob ya Bahar,” by Qatari composer Hala Al Emadi. The monumental show concluded with Post Malone’s famous song entitled “Congratulations” in honor of Qatar hosting the World Cup and making history.
