ArtWalk: QAIC Members Reception

On Thursday March 16th, Qatar America Institute for Culture hosted a private members reception celebrating the opening of Research Labs. Following opening remarks by QAIC’s Director of Programs, Laila Jadallah, QAIC Members and their guests were guided through a private tour of the recently opened Research Labs as well as our Perfumery Museum. Members were then invited to enjoy ArtWalk Dupont, at which time they had the opportunity to interact with the larger D.C. Community which QAIC serves.

During ArtWalk Dupont, QAIC was pleased to share new Shorts by Shorties. In honor of Women’s History Month, our Arab Film House screened five short films directed by young women living in Qatar. The films explored themes of family, loss, identity, memory and more. In addition to viewing the short films, nearly 170 guests enjoyed tours of Research Labs and the Perfumery Museum.

QAIC’s presence at ArtWalk Dupont was two-fold this month! IA&A at Hillyer, which is presently displaying work produced by our 2021 IMPART Artist Grant winners, also opened its doors to the public. Their exhibition includes works by Nia Alexander Campbell, Josh Berer, and Patricia Daher.
